Abstract

1,174,674. Fuel injection control system. ROBERT BOSCH G. m.b. H. Oct. 11, 1967 [Oct. 25, 1966], No. 46359/67. Heading G1N. A pressure transducer 22, Fig. 2, associated with a control system (18, Fig. 1, not shown) for an I.C. engine is connected to the inlet manifold through a throttling orifice (46, Fig. 3, not shown) in a closure valve 43 at the end of a pipe 23 connected to the manifold. The orifice prevents fluctuations in manifold pressure due to operation of the engine inlet valves, &c., from reaching the transducer. A large increase in inlet pressure due to an opening of the butterfly valve (29) for a required acceleration, is permitted to reach the transducer by the valve 43 being opened against the pressure of a spring (47) by the said increase in pressure. A similar arrangement may be used to allow for a large decrease in pressure due to deceleration. The pressure bellows 36, 37 operate a moving core transducer, 38, 39, 42. The pressure transducer may be, alternatively a pressure responsive resistor, capacitor or transformer.
