Abstract
1289575 Regulating; fuel injectors ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 8 July 1970 [9 July 1969] 33085/70 Heading F1B A fuel injection nozzle comprises an intermediate nozzle 44, Fig.2 aligned with a liquid nozzle 37, an intermediate pressurized air space 43 therebetween and a member 50 arranged in the injection nozzle, actuable by a control fluid against a restoring force to close the liquid nozzle. Fuel from reservoir 4, Fig. 1 is pumped at a controlled pressure via a metering valve 8 to fuel injectors 12 arranged in the induction pipe. A three-dimensional cam 15 which is rotated in dependence on the movement of a baffle 3 and moved axially by rotation of a valve 2 controls the valve 8. During overrun conditions, when baffle 3 and valve 2 are closed, the vacuum in the induction pipe 1 causes a control member 23 to open a closure member 22 so that the fuel pressure acts via line 21 on piston 47, Fig. 2, which moves valve-member 50 to close the nozzle 37. Under normal operating conditions the fuel enters via line 11 and passes through a filter 40, annular chamber 39 and tangential bores 41 into a vortex chamber 42 and thence through the bore 37 and intermediate air space 43, which is fed with pressurized air via line 21, chamber 34 and bores (45), Fig. 4 (not shown).
