Abstract

1,171,013. Ring twisting spindle. PLASTICISERS Ltd. 17 June, 1968 [17 June, 1967], No. 28025/67. Heading D1D. A ring twisting machine comprises a hollow bobbin spindle 40 through which the thread is passed to assist threading up. The leading end of the yarn is fed through the spindle, assisted by down draught produced by a vacuum device 46 or blower 60, and into the nip of rollers 42, 44. The thread is looped onto the ring 34 and caught by the bobbin notch 48 as the spindle rotates. The end of the yarn is then caught by hook 50 and cut. The spindle is belt or motor driven, in which latter case each spindle is individually driven.
