Abstract

675,228. Feeding threads to ring twisting machines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP ONDERZOEKINGSINSTITUUT RESEARCH. Nov. 9, 1949 [Dec. 24, 1948], No. 28749/49. Classes 120(ii) and 120(iii) A device for guiding a sheet of threads to the spindle of a ring twisting machine and for enabling the threads to be initially wound on the bobbins mounted on the spindle as described in Specification 661,841 comprises a frame 1 having a series of guides 8, 8<SP>1</SP> over which the threads are guided to a waste take-up roller 9, for example, of the slip roller type, from feed rollers 7. To commence feeding of the threads to their spindle 3 each thread is removed from the guides 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and lowered on to a second series of guides 14-14<SP>1</SP> where it is fed to a waste take-up roller 16 and connected to the bobbin as described in the aforementioned Specification. To avoid a thread becoming entangled with other threads if it should break, a thread engaging device comprising a suction member 11 is provided adjacent the exit side of the rollers 7 which withdraws the thread from operation. Specifications 422,374 and 473,946, [Group IV], also are referred to.
