1,170,881. Adjustment of drafting rollers. E. BONALUMI. 12 March, 1968, No. 12018/ 68. Heading D1D Textile drafting apparatus consisting of upper and lower rollers 15, 16 and 11, 12, 13 spring biased together includes means for adjusting the distance between lower rollers 12 and 13 to allow for the treatment of long or short fibres. A U-shaped member 17 having two upright arms 17a and 17b is arranged outside the support structure SB of the apparatus, the arms 17a and 17b being rigidly connected by rod 17c and swingable in direction of arrows FA or FB and lockable in the required position by bolt 24. Arms 17a and 17b have axial recessed projections 26a and 26b which support the shaft 13a of lower roller 13. A fork shaped pressure device having a plurality of spring biased pistons is provided which by swinging of a lever applies pressure upon the shafts 15a and 16a of the upper rollers 15 and 16.
