Abstract
1,167,699. Linkwork. K. MORTL. 29 Feb., 1968, No. 9862/68. Heading F2K. [Also in Division F1] In a rotary positive-displacement pump, a screw rotor 1, Fig. 3, is driven by a shaft 5 through a coupling that includes a pair of parallel discs 7, 15 connected to an intermediate disc 11 by two mutually-perpendicular pairs of arms 9a, 9b and 13a, 13b, each of which arms can pivot about an axis or point 8a, 8b 10a, 10b, 12a, 12b, 14a or 146 at either end thereof so that while the shaft revolves simply about its longitudinal axis the rotor can revolve in a planetary manner about the longitudinal axis of a helical stator (2), Figs. 1 and 2 (not shown), which is in alignment with the shaft. Alternatively, the coupling includes a pair of parallel discs 24, 30, Figs. 5 and 6, and an intermediate disc 27 furnished with two mutually-perpendicular pairs of pins 26a, 26b and 28a, 28b, which slidingly engage with radial slots 25a, 25b and 29a, 29b in the discs 24, 30, respectively. The coupling may include merely a pair of parallel discs (42, 43), Fig. 1, the disc (43) having an axially-orientated pin (44) fixed eccentrically thereto and slidingly engaging with a radial slot (45) in the other disc.
