Abstract

1394489 Rotary pumps NISSAN MOTOR CO Ltd 25 Sept 1973 [28 Sept 1972] 44913/73 Heading F1F A vane pump comprising a housing having a bore 12 therein of substantially circular profile, an annular resilient sleeve 26 being disposed in the bore, a rotor 18 with diametral vanes 22, 24 rotatable with the housing about an axis offset from the axis of the bore 12, and the resilient sleeve 26 being deformed by a wedge 28 in the direction of the line containing the two axes so that the vane edges are in continuous sliding contact with the sleeve 26 at all angular positions of the rotor 18. The dimensions of the wedge 28 are such that the sleeve 26 will be deformed by an amount which makes the diameter of the sleeve in the line containing the two axes equal to the length of the vanes 22, 24.
