Abstract

[Also in Division G2] An apparatus C for developing latent electrostatic images formed on a zerographic drum 20 comprises a container 1 in which is mounted a perforated rotatable housing 3 having slats 8 which project into developer powder in a sump 2 of container 1, so that when the housing is rotated by a motor 5 developer is formed into the housing by the slats and then upwards by centrifugal force until it is dispersed through perforations 6 in the housing onto drum 20, the unused developer then falling back into the sump by way of a plate 9 adjacent the drum. The toner in the developer may be replenished from a dispenser 7. In a modification, the rotatable perforated housing is in the form of a cylinder (12) into which developer is powder is loaded by an endless conveyor (15) having a plurality of trays (16).
