Abstract
1,239,635. Developing apparatus. FUJI SHASHIN FILM K. K. Oct. 2, 1968 [Oct. 17, 1967], No.46825/68. Heading G2H. A dry type electrostatic latent image development apparatus comprises a plurality of rotatable rollers 21, containing conductive material and acting as development electrodes, which are spaced by a small distance from a photo-conductive layer bearing a latent image located on the surface of a drum 1. The rollers are spaced from each other by a distance smaller than the diameter of the carrier particles in a developer 31, which is fed to the rollers 21 on the side facing away from the drum 1, by means of an endless conveyer 33. The toner particles adhere to the rollers which may be of the same material as the carrier particles and are transferred to the drum 1 thereby. The carrier particles, which cannot pass between the rollers 21, fall back into the development unit 3. In another embodiment the rollers are spaced between each other by a distance exceeding the diameter of the carrier particles but a screening plate (4) Fig. 5 (not shown), prevents the carrier particles from reaching the drum 1. A magnetic brush may be used to apply developer to the rollers.
