Abstract

1361092 Electrographic developing apparatus INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 6 Dec 1971 [23 Dec 1970] 56461/71 Heading G2H A toner applicator 13 (e.g. a roller or belt) is loaded with toner from a reservoir 15, the toner is doctored and triboelectrically charged by spring mounted blades 16 and then the applicator 13 is contacted with an image bearing drum 10 without any relative peripheral motion therebetween. The blades 16 may be of P. T. F. E. or polyformaldehyde. Applicator 13 may be electrically biased. The toner may be subjected to corona discharge before application.
