A door-latching device in a vehicle having a sliding door with a roller 5 thereon movable along a guide-way 4 between inner and outer stopped positions in which the door is respectively closed and open, is in the form of a resiliently influenced rockably mounted lever 1 having an operative end portion which is resiliently urged into the roller path in front of said outer stopped position and arranged so that the roller can rock said operative lever end portion aside when moved into said outer stopped position but is blocked by said lever end portion from moving back from the outer stopped position towards the inner stopped position, and there being control means 15 provided for rocking the lever into a position in which the roller is unblocked to enable the door to be closed.
