Abstract

1437507 Furniture stays ROBERT KRAUSE ZWEIGNIEDERLASSUNG WEILHEIM TECK 5 Dec 1973 56281/73 Heading E2F A stay for use with a furniture flap 6 and of the type comprising a stay bar 2 pivoted to the flap at 1 and having a recessed end 3 for engagement with a projection 4 on the piece of furniture, is formed from sheet material stamped to provide a longitudinal raised rib 27. A spring 15 mounted about the pivot point 1 has arms 16 and 17 which act to bias the bar against the projection 4, and the rib 27 is open at one end to receive the arm 17. A torch member 21 pivoted at 22 allows the projection 4 to enter recess 19 to lock the stay if the flap is moved in the opening direction, further opening movement causes the projection to ride up latch face 23 onto face 24. The flap may then be closed since the projection 4 can ride back over face 24 onto the stay bar. A stamped out projection 26 limits the movement of the latch member 21.
