Abstract

1,158,738. Making multiple contact plug connectors. AMP Inc. 11 Jan., 1968 [16 May, 1967], No. 1660/68. Heading B3A. [Also in Division H2] A method of forming a group of electrical contact pins for a multi-pin connector, comprises forming the pins in a sheet of metal, each pin having an aperture 4 defined by a pair of arms 3 integrally joined at both ends by strip portions 5 and 6, the latter being of narrower width than that between the outer edges of arms 3, portion 6 being joined to the remaining rectangular portion 12 of the blank, securing the free ends of the contact pins 13 within a connector assembly and shearing the pins from the remaining parts of the blank at the strip portions 6. The pins projecting from the connector assembly may subsequently be bent through a right angle.
