A ferroelectric composition comprises a compound Pb(Zr 1-x Ti x )O 3 x= 0À1-0À6; or Pb(Zr y Sn z Ti x )O 3 x = 0À1- 0À6; y = 0-0À9; and z = 0-0À65; x + y + z = 1, admixed with 0À1 its 10% b.w. of at least one of Nb, Ta, Bi, Yt and the rare earths excluding Cl, and 0À05- 5À0% b.w. of MnO 2 . Up to 30 atom per cent of at Pb is replaceable by Ca, Sr, Ba, Zn and Cd.
