Piezoelectric ceramics consist of a sintered oxide mixture Pb[Ti x Zr y (Nb 2 / 3 Zn 1 / 3 ) 2 ]O 3 wherein 0 # x < 1, 0 # y < 1, 0 < z # 1, x + y + z = 1, and up to 15 mole per cent of the Pb is replaced by Ca, Sr or Ba. The mixture can also contain 0À1-3À0 wt. per cent of La 2 O 3 .
