Abstract

1,152,888. Paper drying apparatus. SVENSKA FL KTFABRIKEN A.B. 8 June, 1967 [14 June, 1966], No. 26563/67. Heading F4G. Undesirable air flows in the casing of the drier section of a paper-making machine are counteracted by jets of air from outlets 19, 20 in air ducts 17, 18 located on each side of the casing along the length of the casing between heated cylinders 2 and the side walls 7, 8. The ducts are of circular cross-section, are supplied with heated air from fans 23 and are each divided into sections which are relatively rotatable so as to adjust the direction of the jets. Water vapour evolved in the drier section is removed by heated ventilation air flowing from a lower duct 12 to an upper exhaust passage 15.
