Abstract
The drying chamber for a textile web has the web carried by chains along each edge between the halves of jet bodies with a fan at the entry end. At low level are supply ducts for hot air and air is again extracted through overhead ducts. These are divided by sheets so that used air is extracted through part of each duct and additional fresh air is introduced through the remainder of the duct. These flows of air travelling in opposite directions pass through a heat exchanger, so that the incoming cold air is warmed by the discharged hot air. The roof of the chamber is itself the heat exchanger, formed by the insulated cover and box of the duct. The bottom of the chamber may be used in a similar manner. The partition sheet between the two flows is not insulated.
