Abstract

512,525. Drying paper, cellulose films &c. BLEIBLER, E. March 9, 1938, No. 7422. Convention date, March 11, 1937. [Class 34 (i)] In drying transparent paper, cellulose hydrate films &c. the whole ventilation is below the paper &c. thus allowing access to the top of the dryer. Air is circulated at high speed by fans e through slots d against the under surface of the web &c. and is drawn downwards by the fans. A fan h feeds fresh air preferably through a heat exchanger p and about the air-withdrawal pipe, to adjustable inlets k, l; the exhaust air is withdrawn through adjustable openings m, n by a fan i. Conduits are provided to allow some of the more saturated air to mix with air at the delivery end of the machine to condition the dried paper &c. before it is wound up. The outlets of the fans h, i are adjusted as to produce a pressure below atmospheric in the chamber A.
