709,911. Drying apparatus. TOMLINSONS (ROCHDALE), Ltd. March 13, 1952 [Dec. 15, 1950], No. 30631/50. Class 34(2) Apparatus for enabling the humidity in the chamber 1 of a drying machine to be controlled has a fan 4 for withdrawing continuously a proportion of the drying chamber atmosphere through a small auxiliary chamber 3 containing a cooling coil 5 which cools the atmosphere below 212‹F without condensation and a wet and dry bulb thermometer arrangement 6 from the readings of which the humidity may be determined and controlled as required. The coil 5 is cooled by. water flowing in counter flow to the withdrawn atmosphere.
