349,941. Hygrometric apparatus. NATIONAL FEDERATION OF IRON & STEEL MANUFACTURERS (CORPORATE ORGANISATION), Ltd. and REEVE, L., Caxton House, Tothill Street, London. March 4, 1930, No. 7108. [Class 97 (iii).] A hygrometer comprises a single wet bulb thermometer and means for causing air, the humidity of which is to be measured, to impinge upon the thermometer at a constant temperature. The air may be blown or drawn through a coil immersed in an oil bath maintained at constant temperature by an electric heater controlled by a temperature sensitive element in the oil bath. The wet bulb thermometer may be calibrated to give moisture content directly. For controlling the humidity of spinning mills, the mercury column of the wet bulb thermometer is adapted to close the circuits of relays controlling a steam inlet.
