Abstract
1,151,918. Propellants. FRANCE, REPUBLIC ARMY, MINISTER OF. 30 Aug., 1966 [21 Sept., 1965], No. 38699/66. Heading C1D. A granular powder for rifle grenade cartridges comprises nitrocellulose, 0À5 to 10% by weight of A1, Mg, Be, Li, or Li hydride, and, as a coating on the powder grains, 0À5 to 20% by weight of a moderator having a negative or low positive calorimetric value. The moderator may be a centralite, a dinitrotoluene, camphor, diphenylamine, or a urethane. In an example, nitrocellulose, A1 powder, diphenylamine, and potassium cryolite are formed into grains using ether-alcohol solvent; ethyl centralite is introduced into the external layers of the grains.
