Abstract

1,151,695. Treating charges. JONDA ENG. CO. Ltd. May 12, 1966 [May 25, 1965; Jan. 5, 1966], Nos. 22065/65 and 410/66. Heading F1B. [Also in Division H1] Air is introduced into the engine inlet manifold 2 through pipes 12, 13 under the control of an electromagnetically operated valve 9. The valve 9 remains open so long as contacts 5 and 8 both remain closed. A suction-actuated device 1, Fig. 4 or 7 (not shown), maintains contacts 5 closed so long as the manifold suction exceeds a given value. Switch 8 is controlled by a coil 7 which maintains the switch closed so long as the output of the engine-driven dynamo 15 remains above a given level. A lamp 11 indicates when the valve 9 is open. Coil 7 and switch 8 may be eliminated, Fig. 2 (not shown), in which case the valve 9 is modified, Fig. 3 (not shown), so that the dynamo output must be above a given level for the valve to be opened by its electromagnet against an adjustable spring loading. Switch means linked with the engine choke control may be provided to ensure that valve 9 remains closed when the choke is operated.
