Abstract

1,150,063. Louvre windows. DRAWN & ROLLED SECTIONS Ltd. and H. JAMES. 19 Aug., 1966 [4 Sept., 1965], No. 37877/65. Heading E1J. In an adjustable louvre window the pane carriers are each formed of a base 8 of angular section which is pivotally mounted by means of a projecting ear (9, Fig. 2) intermediate its length and pivot pin 4 on a style 6, and a further angular member 12 has one side bearing on the base 8 and adjustably secured thereto by a screw and longitudinal slot connection (13, Fig. 2), so that the distance between parts 10 and 11 can be varied to suit different thicknesses of louvres. The ears (9, Fig. 2) are each pivoted to a common bar and a lever handle 20 is pivoted thereto by a link 22 and to a bracket 21 on the style, the arrangement being such that on closing the louvres the lever 20 passes its dead centre position so that the louvres cannot be opened by pressure put upon them.
