Abstract

1435698 Bolts ARCHIBALD KENRICK & SONS Ltd 19 Sept 1973 [21 Sept 1972] 43717/72 Heading E2A A releasable bolt arrangement which can hold a door or window in its closed position or in a partially open position, comprises a flat bolt 23 which slides under a pivoted stirrup 22 and, at its tail end, in a box 18 under the control of knob 24. In the retracted position shown in Fig. 1, the head of the bolt is free of the keeper 26 so that the door or window is free to open. In the partially projected position of Fig. 2, the nose of the bolt fastens in a gap 30 in the keeper. In the completely projected position of Fig. 3, the bolt completely enters the hollow keeper 29 so that it can pivot about its ears 25 between lugs 28 of the keeper, and at the same time the tail is free of box 18 so that the whole bolt pivots in stirrup 22 to allow partial opening.
