Abstract
1,146,823. Spray-producers. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE, A.G. 15 April, 1966 (17 April, 1965], No. 16741/66. Heading B2F [Also in Division F1] Apparatus for feeding powder from a container to the head of a spray gun of the burner or plasma jet type comprises a member 2' adapted to be engaged by the neck of the container and shaped to define a hopper 9 which guides the powder to a bore containing a gas inlet pipe 4' terminating in a jet nozzle 17 and an outlet pipe 18 which leads to the spray head. A conduit 19 upstream of the nozzle 17 is connected to a pipe (5) which is provided adjacent the top of the container with lateral outlets (7). If a gas under pressure is supplied to the pipe 4' the pipe (5) ensures pressure equilisation in the container, but if the nozzle 17 is closed by a valve, Fig. 3 (not shown) all of the gas under pressure passes through the pipe 5 into the container. Alternatively if a suction duct is provided the pipe 4' may remain open at its inlet end or be connected to a container of a suitable gas. The position of the pipe 18 with respect to the nozzle 17 may be adjusted by a screw device 20 so as to vary the quantity of powder fed to the head. Different size containers may be used by employing intermediate rings, Fig. 4 (not shown) or interchangeable flanges and packing rings.
