Abstract

1,163,269. Spray-producers. SOC. BERTIN ET CIE. 6 Sept., 1966 [6 Sept., 1965], No. 39741/66. Heading B2F. A spray producer comprises a liquid supply tube 3 having a bevelled end 5 from which liquid is entrained by the flow of compressed gas through a conduit 1. The tube 3 and the conduit 1 are coaxial. The end of the conduit 1 may be bevelled in the same or the opposite direction to that of the tube 3, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown). The bevel angle α is preferably between 10‹-15‹ and the distance d is preferably between -Ï and 2Ï, where Ï equals the diameter of the tube 1, positive distances being measured inwardly. The jet at the outlet of the tube 1 is advantageously sonic or supersonic. The atomizer may be used to distribute liquids or liquid mixtures with or without solids in gases.
