Abstract
1,248,711. Spray producers. GULF OIL CANADA Ltd. 14 April, 1970 [14 April, 1969], No. 17830/70. Addition to 1,210,699. Heading B2F. The process and apparatus of the Parent Specification are modified in that the gas used in forming the vortex is supplied at a pressure sufficient to impart a substantially sonic velocity thereto when it exits from the output nozzle. To avoid high energy losses, the ratio of the diameter of the vortex chamber to that of the outlet nozzle may be from 1.5 to 6. When this ratio is 3.312, air entering at 48 psig and negligible velocity exits at 1046 fps. The use of 75 psig steam is also specified.
