Abstract

1,141,321. Magnetic Fe-Si alloy sheet. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC CORP. July 28,1967 [Aug. 19, 1966], No. 34741/67, Heading C7A. A rolled and annealed magnetic sheet having predominantly the (100) [001] grain texture within about 10 degrees of the sheet surface is made of an alloy comprising: - Si 2 - 5% Mn up to 0À4% Mo up to 0À2% Ni up to 1% Cr over 2 up to 5% together with small amounts of 0 and 5, the balance apart from impurities, such as below 0À01% C. being iron. The sheet may be 0À5-25 mils thick and preferably has at least 70% of the grain volume as secondarily recrystallized grains having the (100) [001] texture. Intermediate anneals at 975- 1200‹C. in dry hydrogen, and optionally at 650- 950‹C. in wet hydrogen and a final anneal at 1100- 1350‹C. in dry hydrogen or vacuum are disclosed.
