Abstract
1,167,130. Titanium alloys. INTERNATIONAL NICKEL Ltd. Aug.16, 1968 [Sept.11, 1967], No. 39293/68. Heading C7A. Titanium alloys suitable for cold-drawing into wire consist, by weight, of Al 1À5-2À5% Cr 1-2À5% Ni 0À5-2% Ti balance, apart from impurities and incidental elements. When Cr< 2%, Cr/Ni#2. Annealing in air at 540-790C. may precede cold-drawing: the resulting Ti oxide surface layer facilitates the drawing especially when MoS 2 is used as lubricant. The wire may be used for making stranded marine cable.
