Abstract

1,138,293. Dental unit. SIEMENS-REINIGER WERKE A.G. 21 Feb., 1966 [20 Feb., 1965], No. 7584/66. Heading A5R. A dental unit including means for driving at least one handpiece is rotatably mounted on a horizontal pivoting arm which is pivotable about a vertical axis, said axis being located in a recess e.g. formed in a block of cupboards so that the arm and the unit can be pivoted between an operating and a stowed position in which the entire length of the arm is located within said recess. As shown, dental unit 11 supporting handpieces 13 is mounted on hollow pivoting arm 15 by means of a hollow pivot bearing 16. The handpieces are supplied with current, water, or compressed air from a box (not shown) through hoses taken through arm 15 and bearing 16. The pivoting arm 15 is horizontally pivotable about vertical axis 17 situated in a recess in a range of cupboards 1. The pivoting arm may have an elbow.
