Classes 52(3) and 52(5) A boom 5, for a microphone 6 or other device mounted on a studio trolley, is carried by a quadrilateral linkage consisting of a jib 4 and links 7, 8, the fourth link being the rear end of the boom. The jib 4 is pivoted horizontally at B on 'the trolley and can be swung as a whole with the quadrilateral linkage about this pivot by means of a bell-crank lever 12, 16 and a link 17, Fig. 2, coupled to the jib. Additionally the angularity of the link 8 in relation to the jib 4, to which it is also pivoted at B, can be adjusted by a right and left-handed screw 19 rotated by a flexible shaft 14 and hand wheel 13 mounted adjacent the operator's chair 11. Counterweights 9, 10 are provided and the jib can be mounted to rotate on vertical axis 15 on the trolley.
