Abstract

1,247,742. Axial-flow blowers. BOEWE BOEHLER & WEBER K.G. Aug.26, 1969 [Aug.30, 1968], No.42432/69. Heading F1C. [Also in Division F4] An axial-flow blower for drying vehicles, comprises a discharge nozzle having a slot-like partlyoval discharge opening 10, Fig.2, which extends substantially diametrically across one end face of housing 1. The nozzle is formed by a foamedplastics sound-absorbing member 9 inserted into or formed in the housing and merging smoothly, at its end remote from the discharge opening, with the inside surface of the housing. The blower may be pivotally connected via its housing to a U-shaped supporting member (12), Fig.1 (not shown). In a vehicle drying apparatus, one or three blowers may be adjustably mounted to the upper portion of a gantry frame (15), Fig.3 (not shown), which is movable along a track and has telescopic side members which permit adjustment of the frame height to suit the vehicle. The blower may be suspended from a balanced arm by a spring unit so that it can be pointed in any direction, and may be provided with a handle for hand-held use.
