Abstract

1,237,675. Engine maintenance apparatus. GOTAVERKEN A.B. 25 Nov., 1969 [27 Nov., 1968], No. 57675/69. Heading B7S. [Also in Division B8] Apparatus for use in the repair and maintenance of a ship's V-engine comprises a member 22 which is adapted to be connected to acylinder unit of the engine and which is movable along a pair of guide rods 20 pivoted at 21 to an arm 18 which is rotatable about a vertical axis on a trolley 17. The trolley is movable along a beam 16 which is movable along rails 15 extending from the engine room to a workshop. Winches 24, 25 are provided to move the member 22 along the rods 20 and to pivot the rods about the axis 21, respectively. The rods 20 may be locked in a selected angular position corresponding to the V-angle of the engine by means of a pivoted rod 28, a locking member 29 and a bracket 27. The winches and cables may be replaced by hydraulic actuating members. The beam 16 may be mounted so as to extend over two side-by-side engines to be serviced, Fig. 1 (not shown).
