Abstract
1,176,764. Adjustable jib suspensions. RUSTON-BUCYRUS Ltd. 11 June, 1968 [14 July, 1967], No. 2760Q/68. Heading B8B. The angle which a jib 2, Fig. 1, makes with a boom 1, to which it is pivoted about a horizontal axis, is adjusted by changing the point at which a supporting cable 12 is attached to cross members 8 of a mast 3 after passing over the top of the mast. The mast comprises side members 7, Fig. 2, and the cable 12 comprises two lines 13 which pass over curved guides 20 and are attached to a selected one of cross members 8 by a clevis 16 and an equalizer bar 15.
