Abstract

1,137,692. Dry shavers. SUNBEAM CORP. 27 Feb., 1967 [27 May, 1966], No. 9295/67. Heading B4B. [Also in Division F2] A dry shaver comprises a pair of parallel shafts 65, 66, Fig. 2, provided with crank portions 65a, 66a driven from a crank pin 46 on the armature shaft 40, Fig. 1, of a rotary electric motor 30 by means of a unitary connecting rod 84, Fig. 2, having flexible arms 84a, 84b and preferably of resilient material, e.g. nylon. The shafts 65, 66 carry U-shaped supports 67' 68 respectively, the slotted legs of which receive cutter blades 63a, 63b, 63c, Fig. 3. The cutter blades are urged into contact with arcuate portions 60a, 60b of a comb 60 by means of a tined spring 70, Fig. 1. The shafts are provided with resilient mounting blocks 82. The comb is supported by a frame 74 having parallel double arcuate ribs 74a to 74h and is depressed at its centre position by means of a tubular comb tightener 75 held in place by U-shaped spring clips 76. The comb is retained on the cutting head assembly 29 by means of a lock spring 78, Fig. 3, having flanges 78a to one of which is hooked one edge 79a of a hinge plate 79 releasably to the frame 74 and to the other of which is pivoted a latch plate 80.
