Abstract

1,136,734. Hair curler. J. D'ANGIO. 3 June, 1966 [8 June, 1965], No. 24927/66. Heading A4V. A hair curler comprises a fluted frustroconical support 1 with a broad radial slot having marginal notches 4 and 5 on either side, a spindle extending axially from the support, a hair-lock clamping drum rotatably mounted on the spindle, and a radial cage 15 fitted over the hair-lock clamping drum on a stud and knob 13 rigidly secured to the latter. The hair-lock clamping drum has a blind axial bore for mounting on the spindle and a rigid doubly bent member 8 projecting outwardly to hold a hair-lock between itself and one of the notches in the support; by rotation of the cage 15 a lock of hair is wound around the drum after thus securing its root end in the radial slot of the support.
