Abstract

1,232,340. Carpet sweepers. LEIFHEIT INTERNATIONAL GUNTER LEIFHEIT K.G. 12 Dec., 1969 [14 Dec., 1968], No. 60761/69. Heading A4F. A height adjusting device for the roller brush of a carpet sweeper comprises a control member 28 coupled directly to and mounted for limited rotation in the sweeper housing 10 and engaging a yoke 25 which bears upon a support 20 for the roller brush 22. The member 28 is formed with a cam which engages the yoke 25, and has peripheral projections 31, 32, 33 (Fig. 6, not shown) spaced from the outer flange 28<1> of the member 28 by the thickness of the housing, the projections being passed through correspondingly shaped notches in the edge of an aperture of the housing when the member 28 is assembled in the aperture. A stop 37 interacting with the yoke 25 and integral with the member 28 prevents the latter being turned during use to a position in which it can be removed from the housing 10.
