Abstract

1,168,072. Securing knobs on spindles. ARCHIBALD KENRICK & SONS Ltd. 21 Nov., 1966 [13 Dec., 1965], No. 52783/65. Heading F2U. A door knob 1 is screwed at 3 on the end of a corner threaded square spindle 4 and locked thereon by a detachable key 7 which axially engages between the square spindle 4 and a square recess formed in an extension 5 of the knob. The key 7 may be separate from, or integral with (Fig. 1, not shown), a cover plate 6 having a beaded edge snapped into a grooved outer edge of the knob 1. The knob 1 is rotatably supported on a boss 8a of a rose 8 which is secured to the door and covered by a flanged skirt. 9 of the knob.
