Abstract

1,029,007. Escutcheon plates. A.S. GRORUD JERNVAREFABRIK. June 18, 1964, No. 25257/64. Heading E2A. An escutcheon plate for a keyhole or doorlock comprises a disc-shaped base 1 with an opening 3 aligned to the key or lock spindle hole and a thin cover disc 10 adapted to fit onto the base and having a hole in correspondence with the base opening, the base having an upstanding boundary rim 5 with an undercut at its inwardly facing side and a cut-away 9 around the boundary of the base to give flexibility to the base to permit the cover to snap fit into the base and be retained by the rim. The base is fixed to the door by screws through holes 4 and the rim has a gap to give access for a prising tool. A further recess 7 may be made inside the rim to increase flexibility of the rim.
