Abstract

1288631 Releasable fastenings E P ROGERS 23 June 1970 [26 June 1969] 32400/69 Heading E2A A window fastening comprises a portion A, Fig. 3 and a bolt housing F. The portion A is secured to a window frame (not shown) by screws B, has a screw-threaded hole which receives a screw D therein and has a hole to receive a bolt E of the bolt housing F therein. The latter is secured to a window casement (not shown) by screws J. The screws B and J are covered by the bolt E when it is in the fastening position as shown in Fig. 4a. The bolt E has projections L, Fig. 3, and a knob G and is mounted in the bolt housing F along with combination type locking collars H, each of which has a slot K to receive a projection L of the bolt E. When the window is closed it is fastened by the handle C being moved into engagement with a tapered surface M of the bolt housing F. Locking of the window is effected when the bolt E is moved, from the position shown in Fig. 4b to the position shown in Fig. 4a. Locking of the bolt is effected by rotating the collars H so that the slots K are no longer in line with the projections L of the bolt E.
