Abstract

1,137,832. Releasable fastenings. PENETRASCOPE Ltd. 17 Nov., 1966 [25 Aug., 1965], No. 22120/65. Heading E2A. A lock is fitted in the inner channel of the frame 1 of a metal casement window 18 so as to be operable from the inside of the window by a removable key. The bolt 7 is wedgeshaped and slides along a fixed wedge-shaped part 4 with a dove-tailed connection 8. The fixed part 4 houses a pinion 10 which meshes with a rack 17 on the bolt 7 and which has a projection 13 engaged by a slot 14 in the removable key 15. The part 4 is secured in the frame by a screw 5 bored to receive the key. The pinion may be urged by a spring into a toothed recess in the part 4 normally to prevent its rotation. The bolt may be built up by a spacer member if necessary and these parts and the fixed part may be of diecast metal or moulded plastics.
