A door handle with end portions 12, 13 and a strap portion extending between them has in the upper end portion an inclined recess 14 which when the handle is in position receives and encloses a complementary block 15 secured to the door by screws, the lower end part having a countersunk bore to receive a fixing screw which enters the door.
