Abstract

1328865 Boring head S MIZOGUCHI 9 Dec 1970 [10 Dec 1969] 58530/70 Heading B3C A boring head comprises a body 51 having a shank 52, a bit mounting member 54, a projection 55 provided on the upper part thereof being slidably fitted into a transverse channel 53 formed in the lower part of the body, and a sliding element 58 slidably fitted into an aperture 57 transverse to the upper part of said transverse channel and communicating therewith, a bolt 63 engaged within a screw threaded aperture in the sliding element and a helical rack gear 56 on the upper part of the projection 55 engaging with a helical rack 61 on the underside of said sliding element. The sliding element has a groove 59 in which a key 60 fits to prevent the element 58 from rotating. The bit 72 is attached to a bolt (73) which is secured in position by a setscrew (75), Fig. 4 (not shown).
