1405426 Boring bars ALFRED HERBERT Ltd 14 Aug 1972 [28 Aug 1971] 40450/71 Heading B3C In a boring bar 22 the tool holder 15 comprises a screwed shank 19 slidable in a bore in a flanged member 12 and screwed to a disc 10, the latter having lugs 11 which are interengaged with a diametral slot 14 in member 12, a nut 19 screwed to the shank, flats on the shank also engaging with slot 14, and spring discs 21 urging the disc and flanged members apart. Nut 19 may be graduated, and member 12 is secured to the boring bar by screws (24), Fig. 3 (not shown). Spring discs 21 may be replaced by a sleeve of rubber or synthetic rubber.
