Abstract

1,075,132. Cutting tools. METRO-CUTANIT Ltd. May 13, 1965 [Feb. 14, 1964], No. 6270/64. Heading B3B. A machining tool comprises a tool shank 1 having a bedding surface 4, a cutting tip 2 replaceably secured to the bedding surface by a member such as a dowel 7 extending through the cutting tip and bedding surface into the shank and means such as a screw 14 for forcing a wedge 13, located between an abutment surface 5 extending above and inclined to the bedding surface 4 and a relatively inclined surface 12 on the cutting tip, in a direction substantially parallel to the bedding surface 4 so as to force the cutting tip away from the abutment surface into contact with the member or dowel 7. Modifications are described in which cutting tips and wedge members of alternative shape are provided and in which a different construction of looking screw is provided.
