Abstract

Cleaning, fluid-pressure processes for.-In boilers having water tubes spaced apart, a steam blower device is arranged to move longitudinally and to rotate automatically when steam is admitted. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the blower tube a has near its outer end a piston b working in a cylinder c. On admitting steam through the opening a the tube is pushed back into the position shown until the steam passing through the leak valve p pushes the piston and tube forward again. At the same time, the tube is rotated by the pin f which engages in the slot e. A projecting rod may be provided for moving the tube when the steam is off. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the pins fare car. ried by the tube a and work in inclined slots on the barrel e. The leak to the back of the piston takes place through a small aperture v in the plug, and can be adjusted by the rod s and tube r.
