Abstract

1,126,908. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. 3 June, 1966. No. 24955/66. Heading A1F. In a haymaking machine of the kind having two or more rake-heads rotary about axes inclined to the ground and each supported by a castor ground-wheel located within the sweep of the raketines, the ground-wheels are adjustable, to vary the height of the tines, by mechanism which passes through the hubs of the rake-heads and is operable from the upper sides thereof. In one form, the adjusting mechanism comprises a rod passing centrally through the tubular axle on which the rake-head hub rotates, the rod being longitudinally movable by lever-mechanism connected to its upper end. In a modification, the levers of two adjusting mechanisms are connected together and operated in common. In another construction, the rod is screw-threaded and has a hand-crank at its upper end. In all constructions the rod operates on the cranked axle carrying the ground-wheel.
