In a haymaking machine of the type having a series of parallel rake-wheels 11 mounted on supports 12 and positively driven, the supports are mounted on the frame 1 of the machine in such a way that the supports and the rake-wheels may be pivoted about a horizontal axis from a side-delivery position, wherein the rakewheels are vertical, to a tedding position, where they are oblique to the ground. The main frame is of inverted-U shape, adjustable swivel-wheels 2 being mounted upon the downwardly-extending limbs of the frame. A main beam 8 is mounted in slots 7 in the frame-limbs so as to be adjustable vertically and also rotatable about its axis, by means of a crank 10; nuts 9 clamp the beam in any adjusted position. Shafts 12, journalled in the frame carry rake-wheels 11 at one end and driving sprockets 13, 14 at the other; the sprockets are all connected by chains 11 to a gearbox 20 and thence by a telescopic shaft 27 to a gearbox 23, on the frame, which is driven from the tractor power take-off. The gearbox 20 has two input-shafts 21, 22, diametrically opposed, for alternate use when the main beam is rotated through 180 degrees. An arched member 3 is pivoted, at 5, to the frame 1 and terminates in a third swivelwheel 4, a drawbar 6 being mounted near this wheel. When the device is drawn in the direction alpha (Fig. 1) it operates as a sidedelivery rake discharging to the right; traction in the direction b, with the member 3 swung into the position 3<1> and the main beam 8 rotated through 180 degrees so that the rake-wheels occupy dotted positions 11<11>, converts the device for side-delivery to the left. Rotation of the main beam through 90 degrees so that the rake-wheels are slightly inclined to the ground (11<1>, Fig. 2) converts the device into a tedder. In a modification (not shown) the device is mounted on tractor hitch-links and has no ground-wheels.
