Abstract
802,782. Side-delivery rakes. VAN DER LELY, N.V., C. Jan. 28, 1955 [Jan. 29, 1954], No. 2667/55. Class 6(3). A raking device comprises rake teeth mounted on rake bars 83 pivotally attached to rotatable supports 79 which may be driven from a tractor power shaft, the teeth being formed with a portion which is under tension when the teeth are in contact with the ground. As shown, a single piece of wire is used to form two teeth 85- 92 the parts 87-90 of which are interconnected by bends, the middlemost of which is secured to the bar 83. In a modification two girders are hingedly connected to a bow member, each girder being associated with a running wheel and provided with two rotatable supports connected by rake bars. By setting the position of the girders with respect to the bow the machine may be converted from a raking device into a swath turner. In this embodiment the rake bars are moved by contact with the ground.
