Abstract
1,126,202. Closet footrests. A. J. SHOPLAND. 8 Sept., 1965 [14 Sept., 1964], No. 37526/64. Heading E1C. An accessory for a lavatory pedestal comprises two legs 21 which pass on opposite sides thereof from the back to the front and are arranged with the ends 29 supported unattached on the floor and attached to the pedestal at the back and a front step member 42 supported by the legs 21. The step member 42 is so supported by the legs 21 that, when used, the step 46 is horizontal, and when retracted the step 46 is out of the way. The member 42 is attached to the legs 21 by pivots 41 and has at least one stop 45 to abut against one or both legs 21 at least, when it is in use. The stop(s) 45 is/are on (an) arm(s), extending rearwardly, weighted at points beyond the pivots 41 from the stop 46. In a modification the legs and step member are modified in shape. The legs 21 are attached to the pedestal by the same means as the seat.
